Synopsis- SPOILER ALERT!!!
B'wana Beast is not exhibiting teamwork but instead is putting up a show of being all the beast's masters. This is something he does a lot and it has gotten Superman's attention. Superman asks Animal man to talk to him but the talk doesn't go well. A battle with Queen Bee ensues and Mr Miracle dispatches a team. There, B'wana Beast suddenly assists Animal Man in a time of need.
Continuity Peg- POSITIVE
The issue remains safe and does not touch on anything that could be against standard continuity. Although B'wana's characterization can be argued as out-of-character, we never really saw much of him to indicate such. Animal man has never appeared in the TV series. Crimson Avenger's suit is the first one he had worn in the TV series. Mr. Terrific dispatches the team. These last two factors put the comic between JLU-3:04 To Another Shore (where Mr Terrific begins acting as dispatcher) and JLU-3:07 Patriot Act (where Crimson avenger sports a new suit)
Continuity References-

Batman refers to the numerous times he has fought Clayface and freezes him like some of the times he has 'taken care of' him in the past.

The Grey Ghost is seen as Batman's childhood symbol. He had previously appeared in Batman: the Animated Series.

The Queen Bee appears and Grodd was mentioned as taken down. Possibly the attack on the city was by the expanded secret Society (affectionately called 'Legion of Doom' by fans)

Continuity Go Bye Bye

Rather than being the suave ladies' man and submissive assist to Batman he seemed to be in JLU-1:06 This Little Piggy, he acts rather brash and wild, most likely in counter to Superman's leadership. Animal Man mentions that this is probably a facade in front of beasts or strong creatures.

Review

The out-of-character fleshing out of B'wana can be written off with some rationalization. It's fun seeing the 2 animal guys interact and be lumped together though their powers are radically different. One wonders why Vixen, appearing in the background is not brought into the story seeing how she is much more similar to Animal man than B'wana.
Notable for

- featuring B'wana Beast and Animal Man

- featuring Catman in a cameo
