Synopsis- SPOILER ALERT!!!

After telling his student in school to essentially not give up, and telling his fellow leaguers that losing his powers won't be a hindrance to his life, Black Lightning finds himself face to face with the Parasite. The Parasite waylays the more powerful members of the league, Wonder Woman and Firestorm among them and demands to fight Superman. Black Lightning nearly gives up but sees his student helping out an old lady in the middle of the crisis.

Continuity Peg- POSITIVE

Judging from both the appearance of Huntress (in her first suit) and Shayera (in her tracksuit). This story can be placed between JLU-2:01 The Cat and the Canary (where it is assumed that Shayera is now in her tracksuit) and JLU-2:06 Double Date (where Huntress appears in her 2nd suit and terminated from her position in the league). Mr. Terrific is seen dispatching the league instead of J'onn, but it is possible that J'onn is merely away and Mr Terrific is covering for him. His presence in the Monitor Room is why his dispatching assignment was suggested by Wonder Woman in JLU-3:03 Chaos at Earth's Core and continued after that. Parasite's reappearance is no issue. Black Lightning and Firestorm do not appear in the TV series. Steel is never unmasked in the TV series.

Continuity References-

Black Lightning makes references to STAR Labs.

Steel and Black Lightning drop the Daily Planet globe on Parasite.

Mr. Terrific dispatches the team.

Continuity Go Bye Bye

Steel is drawn with a beard and mustache just like in # 13 Nuts and Bolts

Review

Reappearing in the Justice League Unlimited comic is Black lightning, in another hero-of-the-month issue. Here Jefferson Pierce, high school teacher learns to take his own advice and own up to his words. With the league down it's up to him to take on the Parasite, drained of his powers and having to improvise.

Notable for
- featuring Black Lightning as a main character. He had appeared as part of the active roster in #15 Urban Legend
