Synopsis- SPOILER ALERT!!! |
|
A
strange storm is threatening to tear up Star City. Vixen, Green Lantern,
Green Arrow and Black Canary try to help the citizens. Soon GL's ring
confirms that the storm is not natural. He wishes aloud that there was a
strong flyer to scout ahead, like Shayera. Vixen is ticked and goes on to
scout ahead, with John (GL)'s comments in mind. She finds Killer Frost and
Heat wave in a lover's quarrel, with their powers causing the storm. Killer
Frost quickly disposes of Vixen by freezing her up and in the process
tossing her off the building.
The others find Vixen and attack the warring lovers. The two trounce the
leaguers quite well and make up. Vixen arrives and attacks anew. Later,
Vixen and canary find Heatwave and Killer Frost and stop the storm while
Green arrow and Green Lantern attempt damage control. After everytjing,
Shayera arrives but before they meet, Vixen leaves John a parting message,
urging him to choose what's right for him. |

Continuity References- |
|
Not much of a
continuity problem-but AGAIN we see the Javelin 7, instead of one of the
standard-issue Javelins we see in 'Unlimited' episodes.
Hawkgirl is finally
in her track suit!
The inker did not
include John's mustache for the entire book, instead it's drawn somewhat as
laugh lines. |

Logic Out The Window |
|
Somehow Green
Lantern (and perhaps Canary and Arrow) can hear Heat Wave and Killer Frost
from the ground when they're way up on the roof of a multi-storey building.
While a fascinating
theory of how heat and cold can react with one another to create weather
disturbances, it is odd considering Heat Wave merely has a flame-thrower and
Killer Frost was using her powers directly. It would seem logically that
these factors are not enough to cause that much of a weather disturbance. |

Review
|
|
So far this has been
one of the best-written stories written for a JLU comic. One may actually
treat it as a companion piece to the show. All the characters act as they
would in the episodes. Several character relations are brought into play,
and the Vixen-GL-Shayera issue is given even more of a spotlight than it was
in the show. The issue doesn't attempt to dumb itself down to cater to the
younger demographic but works quite well for fans of all ages. |
|
Notable for |
|
- being one of the
few more serious storylines. |
