Characters

Hawkman and Hawkgirl

Real Names: Katar Hall and Shayera Hall

Base of Operations: Midway City, St. Roch

Group Affiliation: The Super Friends, The Justice League of America

Powers: Hawkman and Hawkgirl have no known super powers. Instead, they rely on a variety of skills and weapons to fight crime. Both Katar and Shayera are fierce warriors who are a force to be reckoned with even unarmed. The Hawks both wear a pair of wings along with Nth Metal anti-gravity belts, which allow them to fly. The Nth Metal also provides them with enhanced strength and durability. The duo is often seen carrying ancient and modern day weapons such as maces, spears, nets, and laser-crossbows

Origin/History: Hawkman and Hawkgirl were policemen on their home planet Thanagar. Quite some time ago, they journeyed to Earth. In recent years, the two of them have joined the Super Friends in their quest for justice. Some of the Hawk’s most persistent adversaries include The Ghost of Gentleman Jim, The Shadow Thief, Lionmane, and The Toyman.

Moment of Glory: In the Super Friends episode “Revenge of Bizarro”, Bizarro has turned Batman, Robin, and Wonder Woman into Bizarros. The three enslaved Super Friends go to the Hall of Justice and try to destroy Superman, Hawkman, and Hawkgirl. Hawkman and Hawkgirl quickly tangle with Robin and Wonder Woman. Robin traps Hawkman in his Bat-net while Wonder Woman ensnares Hawkgirl in her magic-lasso. Thinking quickly, Hawkman uses his razor-sharp beak on his helmet to cut through Robin’s Bat-net. Once free, Hawkman uses his laser-crossbow to pin Robin to the Wall while Hawkgirl throws her anti-gravity belt around Wonder Woman, which catapults her to the ceiling.

Moment of Shame: Hawkman - In the Super Friends episode “Fairytales of Doom”, the Toyman has created a device which allows the user to transport people into the pages of a storybook. Toyman quickly tricks Hawkman right into the pages of “Jack & The Beanstalk”. Once in the story realm, Toyman lures Hawkman to the giant’s castle where Hawkman is quickly captured and put into a giant birdcage. Hawkgirl did not appear enough to generate a "moment of shame".

Quotes: Hawkman – “My laser-bow will pin up that Robin-Bizarro!” Hawkgirl – “My anti-gravity belt should give her quite a surprise.”
