Powers: The Atom possesses the power to alter his density/weight and reduce his size. Even at reduced size, he still retains his full strength. While in minature form, he can glide on air current or travel through telephone transmissions.

Origin/History: After discovering a fragment of a white dwarf star, professor Ray Palmer fashioned it into a belt that allowed him to alter his density/weight and reduce his size. Realizing he could make a difference in the world, he donned a costume and called himself the Atom. Since his career began, the Atom has accumulated several foes such as the Floronic Man, the Bug-Eyed Bandit, and Strobe.

Moment of Glory: In the Super Friends episode “The Energy Mass” the Atom teams up with Batman and Robin the stop a runaway freight train that has been possessed by an energy creature. After several attempts from the Dynamic Duo to stop the train from crashing into it’s doom, the Atom uses his size and density powers to apply the brakes of the train(which were previously jammed) to bring the speeding train to a complete halt.
