Main Customizing Interest: Justice League Unlimited is pretty much it, thus far.
Why do you customize: Hmm. Well, I believe I started because I wanted an accurately painted Batgirl. I bought a silver one from Family Dollar and decided to give it a shot. It was all downhill from there...
Where do you customize: I just recently purchased a craft table to devote to customizing. I had been doing it in my living room floor and was pretty terrified of accidentally getting paint on the carpet.
When did you start customizing: I'd say it was about 2 1/2 years ago.
When do you customize: Well, I work 2 jobs and I'm a bit of a night owl, so most of my work is done between midnight and 4 a.m.
How much time, on average, do you spend customizing each week: Really depends on the week. When I start a custom I'll pretty much work on it as much as I can until its finished. Given that I almost never do more than one custom a week, I'd say 4-8 hours.
How many customs have you done: Ack. Hard to say. Some have been given to friends as gifts. Some have ended up on eBay. I'd say around 25. I have tried to confine my nerdery to one small girlfriend-friendly bookcase.
What type/brand of paint do you use: I mostly use Blick matte-surface acrylics that I purchase from Dick Blicks. Occasionally I use Folk Art paints.
Have you ever bought a custom: Nope, I'd rather reverse engineer it.
Have you ever sold one of your customs: Yep. I've considered doing commission work, but its hard to work out with my schedule and I never know what to charge. Ebay has been good to me.
Are there any other types of customs that you have never done but would like to try: I wouldn't mind taking a crack at an Ed McGuinness-style figure.
Why did you take part in the Customizer of the Month article: Because I was asked!
What lines of toys/models do you collect: Justice League Unlimited and the occasional Transformer that appeals to me.
If you could give one tip to other customizers, what would it be: God is in the details.
What inspires you when you do a custom: I went to school to become an animator and the Timm-verse inspired that to a degree. So on some level, I find it very satisfying to create something thats tied to that world. I've also got a bit of competitive side, so the contests on the HOJ forums motivate me to create when I'm not necessarily inspired to do so.
What is your favorite custom that you have: Probably Supergirl. Not because I think she's best-looking or most show-accurate -- she's not -- but she was the first custom I did that wasn't a repaint or easy head swap. Finishing Supergirl showed me that I could almost anything I wanted as a customizer.
What custom do you feel is your best: Hmm. I have a tendency to think the last custom I completed is my best. So, right now I would probably tell you Captain Marvel. If I looked at it objectively, I would probably say Starfire. What can I say? Bright orange cleavage does it for me.
