Secondary Customizing Interest:
See above
Third Customizing Interest: see above the above
Why do you customize: I really love the creative aspect of it. I have always been artistic...so this is a great creative outlet. It also allows me the luxery of staying home with my youngest son...I'm a house husband..ie: Kept man (good job if you can get it Wink)
Where do you customize: When my oldest son moved out...
I converted his room into a studio/collection room.
When did you start customizing: about 1992...My very first custom was a Psylocke out of a Batman Returns Catwoman. I still have it!!
When do you customize: I spend alot of time at the gym, working at my church and chasing around my kids (I'm dads taxi service) I usually dont get started until my son goes down for his nap. Sometimes I really dig just going into my office after dinner...I get really creative when the sun goes down!
How much time, on average, do you spend customizing each week: Oh goodness...20-30 hrs at times. It varies.
How many customs have you done: Hundreds...way too many!!!
What type/brand of paint do you use: I've tried all kinds( cheap stuff) but I ALWAYS go back to games workshop. I just like their colors better and it's just comfortable to me.
Have you ever bought a custom: Not yet...but if Casimir ever puts ANYTHING up for sell I'm on it like a duck on a junebug!!! I love that guys work (and he's a nice guy too!!)
I wish I had gotten one of his Clayface casts...I love it!!!
Have you ever sold one of your customs: I sell 'em all. I only have one custom in my collection of JLU stuff and it's a Harley Quinn I did about a year ago.
Are there any other types of customs that you have never done but would like to try:
Not really...I've tried almost everything once. One thing I WONT do again is try to scuplt faires for people. I had some nightmares about the people I was dealing with (wackos!!)
Why did you take part in the Customizer of the Month article: I love sharing my work and my opinion. I really enjoy the guys on this board. There is such a feeling of comradery instead of competition. I left another board because there were some serious competitve backstabbing going on. It's toys folks...lets not get too worked up!!
What lines of toys/models do you collect: JLU (man I love The TIMM-Verse!) Marvel Legends, Medicom Planet of the apes,Some trek stuff,Hanna Barbera. I collect Wacky Races stuff!
If you could give one tip to other customizers, what would it be: Have fun...never think you "cant do it" take that risk! Also..take corrective critisism well...It's hard but it will just make you better.
What inspires you when you do a custom: I love doing characters I know nothing about. there is a bit of discovery involved. I never picked up a Legion comic until I noticed there were not alot of Legion customs out there. Now I'm reading the Legion comics!!
What is your favorite custom that you have: I did some Star Trek the Motion Picture customs of the main crew that were for myself. I have also done some Planet of the Apes customs that I would never sell.
What custom do you feel is your best: I did a JLU Black Orchid...it was one of the very first animated customs...and it still ranks up there as one of my faves. I did a Marvel Legends Mandarin and a Black Queen that I really like still.
