Real Name: Greg Glas---
Location: Maryland
Age: turned 39 in March
Sex: 3 times a week. (Shhh, Don't tell my wife)
Main Customizing Interest: Star Wars is what started it all for me, but lately I have mainly made JLU figures
Secondary Customizing Interest: Justice League /BTAS/STAS style figures.
Third Customizing Interest: Custom Packaging (pic 3)
Why do you customize: To add figures to my collection that aren't available in the stores.
Where do you customize: In a corner in the basement, where all bad boys are sent! (pic 1)
When did you start customizing: Age 9. I butchered a stormtrooper with a knife to get the head off, filled the hollow torso with playdoh and stuck Han Solos head. It looks a mess, but I was the only kid on the block with a Han Solo in trooper disguise.
When do you customize: At night when I should be sleeping.
How much time, on average, do you spend customizing each week: It really depends on what the Wife and kids have in store for me. Sometimes I'm too tired to do anything. I ry to get 4 or 5 hours in a week.
How many customs have you done: Between Star Wars and JLU, a bit over 200 (pics 2)
What type/brand of paint do you use: Model Masters Acrylics
Have you ever bought a custom: Yes, vintage starwars Repros. Rocket Firing Fett both J
and L slot, were my last.
Have you ever sold one of your customs: Yes, but not many. I barely have time to work on figres for myself, so I take few commissions. I don't advertise that I take them, but I tend say yes when asked
Are there any other types of customs that you have never done but would like to try: Marvel Legends 6" figures. I will some day.
Why did you take part in the Customizer of the Month article: All publicity is good publicity!
What lines of toys/models do you collect: Star Wars is the main focus of my collection, but I tend to buy any animated superhero line. Spiderman Animated, STAS, BTAS XMen animated make up the majority of figures in my cabinets. (pic 4)
If you could give one tip to other customizers, what would it be: Push yourself. Don't be too timid to try a new technique it's the only way to get better.
What inspires you when you do a custom: Hearing my wife say, " That looks just like him!"
What is your favorite custom that you have: I still like
my Sheyera Hol the most. She won me Best Animated Custom
of the Year for 2005 and I'll always be happy about that.
I am also very happy with my sculpt of my
likeness. I think it turned out pretty well
for such a small scale.
What custom do you feel is your best: Its hard for me to say,
but my Amanda Waller custom got a lot of attention, so I guess its that one.
